BISSELL Little Green 1400B vs Hoover CleanSlate Plus

Last checked 2026-10-03.

Per their manuals, the BISSELL Little Green 1400B and the Hoover CleanSlate Plus FH14050 both clean only upholstery tagged "W" or "WS"/"S/W", never "S"; both use tap water with no heater; and each takes only its own brand's formula. The BISSELL has a 48 oz clean tank (listing), the Hoover 40 oz (manual). Hoover's manual gives a formula amount, 5 oz to 35 oz of water for its concentrate; BISSELL's current guide gives fill lines without an ounce figure.

Kinds of claim on this page: fabric codes, formula rules, tank sizes and what is in the box are product evidence from each machine's manual or listing (read 2026-10-03); which formula goes in which machine is a compatibility statement, only as the machine's manual gives it; words such as "removes stains" or "eliminates odors" are a manufacturer claim and are not repeated as findings; anything no source states, including hose and cord reach, is unknown.

Left out, and why

We tested nothing: no stain, odor, drying or noise measurements. Nothing here says a machine or formula removes a particular stain, sanitizes, removes allergens or dries faster. A machine being allowed on a fabric code is not permission to wet-clean every sofa: check the care tag, test a hidden area, and follow the manual. Never mix cleaning chemicals.

Which fabrics and formulas: upholstery codes and spot cleaners. What formula costs: formula cost.
